Dr. Zagarra is an experienced Orthodontist who has been involved in private practice for over 25 years. He obtained his specialty  certificate in Orthodontics and an MDS (Master in Dental Science) from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Zagarra has always been involved in teaching graduate Orthodontics, first at Universidad Javeriana in his native country Colombia and since 2002 at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.

Dr. Zagarra has lectured extensively and is a Member of the American Association of Orthodontists and a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists as well as a member of Diplomate American Board of Orthodontics and the Colombian Society of Orthodontics

Dr. Zagarra is  fluent in English and Spanish.
